Here's how to Start the New Year with Joy and Happiness!

Every year for more than 35 years, I have made an annual practice at New Years, of writing down a list of all the wonderful blessings and magical experiences I have enjoyed over the previous year, and what I want to accomplish in the years ahead-- what’s still on my 'bucket list’
I write it all down in in my 'blessings journal'. Then I turn the pages back to previous years to reflect on the goals of my past

Not everyone remembers Christmas with joy and fondness.
For many it is a time of dysfunctional family dynamics, unhappy memories, loneliness, grief, or unfulfilled dreams

I am one of those many people who dreaded Christmas for most of my adult years
When I was a child my mother and older sister always made Christmas seem especially magical and memorable. But, in later years, my mother's own bitter unhappiness made her choose to make everyone else suffer too. Does life happen TO us, or FROM us? Why do wonderful things happen to some and not to others? Do we manifest our circumstances by how we feel about ourselves, and whether we feel we deserve happiness?
I am inclined to think so, because every choice, decision, and action you take or do not take, is based on how you feel. How you feel about what you are doing. But, more importantly how you feel about yourself and what you unconsciously believe you deserve
